The character T-Stance saved along
with the Ultimate Rig is primordial to achieve proper retargeting between
characters.
The T-Stance is used in several step
of the retargeting process. First, the T-Stance is used to determine the
proportions of different body parts of the character. Then it is used to match
the T-Stance of the source character and takes in consideration the offset
between the two characters. Lastly, the target character is constrained to the
source character while in T-Stance to make sure they perfectly match together
before any animation kicks in.
The following explains the
requirements of a proper T-Stance.
-
Make sure your character is placed in a perfect T-Stance, facing
the Z positive axis.
-
Also make sure that the feet are on the floor grid and that they
are centered at the origin.
